Central Registration Service
Bayside City Council provides a Central Registration Service for both three and four year old kindergarten on behalf of 19 community delivered kindergartens within the Bayside municipality, including Helen Paul Kindergarten. The Central Registration Service is administered by Family Services which is a division of Council’s Community Services Department.
The registration period is 1 May to 30 June each year, and applications for enrolment can be made online.
For more information on the Central Registration Service please visit Bayside City Council or call the Family Services Department on (03) 9599 4755.
Acceptance of Offer
Bayside City Council will notify parents/carers by email if your child has been offered a place at Helen Paul Kindergarten. Although Council contact families directly with an offer of enrolment, families respond directly to the kindergarten of their choice to accept or decline the offer. Once you have received your offer, please complete our Confirmation of Offer form to officially accept or decline the place, and return it to Helen Paul Kindergarten along with your non-refundable acceptance deposit of $100.
3 Year Old Program
Children enrolling for a 3 year old program must have turned 3 by the 31 January in the year they attend. In exceptional circumstances, a child who turns 3 in February or March of the year they wish to attend, may be considered for a place if a vacancy remains after the conclusion of the Central Registration process but they cannot commence until they have turned 3.
4 Year Old Program
Children enrolling for a 4 year old program must turn 4 by the 30 April in the year they attend. A child may start 4 year old kindergarten at the commencement of the kindergarten year even if they have not yet turned four.
All children differ in maturity and kindergarten readiness. To ensure the best possible outcome for your child, particularly for those children born in February, March and April, it is important to consider the following:
Can they separate from you without undue stress for short periods of time?
Can they play happily alongside or with other children?
Can they follow simple instructions and routines?
Can they ask for help?
Are they toilet trained?
